Don TuTo Habanos was founded by the Garcia-Martinez family in Costa Rica in 1993.  Our cigars are hand made using long filler tobaccos and wrapper grown in Costa Rica. 

First production of Don TuTo, in the early 90’s, was using Indonesian wrapper with Nicaraguan and Costa Rican Tobaccos for the blend.  In those early years we discover that Costa Rica produces excellent tobacco. Most of the Tobacco produced was and still is exported to Nicaragua and other countries. This was a well kept secret and to some extent still is. Nowadays Costa Rican Tobacco is getting the reputation that it has long deserved.

Today Don TuTo’s are hand made using Tobaccos grown and processed in Costa Rica making it a Costa Rican Puro.  

As a small family owned and operated company all aspects of making cigars are better controled in a traditional way. Our production is small in comparison to the “Industrial” cigar makers. We are neither a “boutique” brand nor the spin off from a large industrial cigar maker. We make small lots of Don TuTo according to the blend and when the tobacco is ready to be used.
